Their latest advancement is the Cosworth CNC Ported Big Valve Cylinder head range. Modified from OE cylinder head castings, substantial gas flow improvements and upgraded valve train components offer superior performance for your high performance engine.Each original cylinder head design is carefully evaluated and tested to establish the improvements required to meet the target performance level. Hours of testing and flow bench validation are used to determine the best advanced port design yielding maximum usable power and response. However, there is more to cylinder design than just maximum flow. It is critical that port velocity is maintained to ensure drivability and valve train components are matched to guarantee reliable performance. Once all of these factors have been tested and validated, the final port contour is digitized. Using the digitized program, we then reshape both intake and exhaust ports using a 5 axis CNC mill producing and accurate and consistent port shape every time. In addition to re-shaping and enlarging the intake and exhaust ports, most Big Valve Cylinder heads feature a re-shaped combustion chamber to un-shroud the valves increasing air flow and performance. After machining, each cylinder head is ultrasonically cleaned, serialized and then hand assembled with select high performance valve train components, ready to install on you engine. The Edelbrock E-Tec 200 Performer Cylinder Heads have 200cc rectangular intake ports and 78cc exhaust ports. They outflow other similar aluminum heads by 10% on the intake and 17% on the exhaust, making power up to 6,500 RPM. The 64cc combustion chambers produce approximately 10.2:1 compression when used with flat-top pistons in 350ci engines. These powerful heads incorporate high-quench combustion chambers which promote a more uniform atomization of the air/fuel mixture for more power. Spark plugs have been positioned closer to the center of the cylinder for more efficient combustion. They accept centerbolt or standard valve covers and most stock exhaust manifolds. Swirl-polished stainless steel valves provide maximum flow. The E-Tec 200 heads come with 2.02" intake and 1.60" exhaust valves.
